Acting on the order of the Chief Judicial Magistrate, the district police on Tuesday evening charged two men from Shivnagar village under the jurisdiction of Gajraula police station for beating a 40-year-old man to death and dumping his body in a field.
The complainant, Kaushalya Devi (36), said the incident took place on July 29 last year, but as the police refused to take legal action, she approached the judicial court. She said both the accused, Saligram (40) and Rajveer (39), had enmity with her husband's elder brother, Netram, who was a farmer.
On the day of the incident, when he was about to leave for his married daughter, the duo started beating him and took him to an unknown place where they are believed to have killed him. According to the autopsy report, the man suffered blood loss due to internal and external injuries. SHO Prabhash Chandra said the two named accused have been booked under IPC Section 302 (murder).
